What’s your role at Jan McDermott, and when did you join the team?

I am a client manager, I joined in 2006.

What inspired you to work in this field or join Jan McDermott Chartered Accountants? 

I’m not sure why I chose accountancy, but I must’ve picked the right path — I’ve been here nearly 20 years and still haven’t escaped…

What kind of clients do you usually work with?

I work with a mix of sole traders, directors, and financial directors who need support with their accounts and tax.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy helping clients make their day easier — whether that’s answering queries, solving problems or guiding them through xero.

Is there a particular area of your work you find especially rewarding or interesting?

I like to keep on top of deadlines, making sure VAT, Accounts, Payroll, Corporation Tax and Self-Assessment filings are done on time.

How do you like to start your day at work?

Drinking a cup of green tea and catching up with emails

What motivates you to do your best work?

Being part of a good team, the kind where everyone helps each other

What do you enjoy doing outside of work

I love to travel and am always planning my next adventure.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I don’t like to put my head underwater!!
