My role as an Executive assistant is to support the team with internal and external communications, scheduling and ensuring daily operations run smoothly. I joined just over one year ago.
Q: What inspired you to work in this field or join Jan McDermott?
A: I joined Jan McDermott after having my twins. I wanted a role where my organisational skills and attention to detail would be valued and useful day-to-day.
Q: What kind of clients do you usually work with?
A: My role is mostly about supporting the team, so I don’t deal with clients too often. But when I do, they’re always friendly.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your role?
A: I enjoy the mix of tasks I get to do every day and I like that I can help out in different ways. Although there is always something that pops up at 5pm that needs doing!
Q: Is there a particular area of your work you find especially rewarding or interesting?
A: I really enjoy a busy day where I can solve little problems as they come up. I’m usually able to spot and fix issues quickly, often before anyone even realises there is a problem
Q: How do you like to start your day at work?
A: I always start the day with a coffee and croissant with lots of butter. Then I’ll check emails and team members daily schedules, so I know what is scheduled for that day.
Q: What motivates you to do your best work?
A: Me. I always give my best, and I like knowing I’ve done something properly.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and children. We are usually outside playing and exploring. I also enjoy running and recently ran the Everton 10K which I am proud to have achieved.
Q: What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
A: I have quite a collection of Vogue magazines, although I couldn’t tell you exactly how many I have.
